The Capital Playhouse academic year program in the performing arts is designed for children ages 8 - 18 who are interested in expanding their performance skills and involving themselves in classes for dance, drama, voice, and technical theatre. Adults are also welcome to inquire about class enrollment. We enroll up to the first day of class on a “first come first served” basis. Early enrollment is encouraged. Sorry, but due to the overwhelming interest in our academic year program, we are unable to offer scholarships. However, our organization’s policy is not to exclude a student based on financial need. Classes in RED are FULL.

To register for a class, you must make a $75 deposit and the class must be paid in full by the start of the class pereiod. To enroll download the enrollment brochure and return it to the playhouse. Click Here

One of our most popular classes! Students will work backstage with the technical director learning about what goes on behind the scenes at Capital Playhouse. Topics will include set construction, set design, lighting sound, and painting. The class will be “hands on,” allowing students to “learn by doing” on an actual set for Capital Playhouse’s Season in a Box! Class graduates get the opportunity to tech a show at the playhouse. Our techs are given a stipend for SIAB. We will provide safety glasses. However you will need to bring work gloves and appropriate work clothes.
