PAGE TO STAGE PETER PAN GUIDE TO YOUR IMAGINATION
For young and old alike!
First, you need to know how Peter Pan came about! And, for that you need to learn about the author, James Barrie. For one of the best websites about Mr. Barrie, go to www.jmbarrie.co.uk. One of the things you will learn about the author is that he played Captain Hook as he created and wrote the story of Peter Pan with five young boys he adopted.
Second, you need to read the book, which will inspire you to use your imagination for dreaming and for writing. The world of the imagination, which Barrie so clearly tapped into with his young boys, is one which is entirely your own. A place where you can go anytime and anywhere. A place to dream and be creative.
Questions to Spark Your Imagination
- Tell all about having an imaginary friend ~ like Peter Pan, Tinkerbell or Captain Hook. Or even the fierce old crocodile. Describe your "friend" in lots of details.
- Neverland is an imaginary place. Not all that takes place there is fun. What and who are the dangers in Neverland? Tell how you would confront or make peace with the dangers in Neverland. Maybe what you think is dangerous isn’t dangerous at all!
- Wendy, John and Michael all go to bed and once asleep, their adventures begin. Just what are these adventures? Are they dreams? Are the adventures real? Do the children really fly? Have you ever dreamed such dreams? Tell about what dream adventures you have had or would like to have. Then go to sleep and try it!
- Imagine waking up at night with the sky full of stars. You open your windows and are able to fly out. Where do you go, what do you see and who do you meet?
