Kids in Koncert, the Northwest's premier youth choir, was founded in 1996 by Choir Director Troy Arnold Fisher and Capital Playhouse. It has grown to over 50 students, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old (under 8 requires director approval). The choir also includes two student-led a cappella groups that are by audition only: TroyzBoyz and Krazy8. In November 2009, TroyzBoyz won the Audience Choice Award on TCTV's "Show Off" talent competition!

Kids in Koncert performs annually at celebrated events including the state Capitol Rotunda Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Singing Christmas Tree for Olympia's Downtown for the Holidays Festival, and Zoolights at Point Defiance Zoo. In Fall 2009 Kids in Koncert was given a great honor by Oscar-winning composer Al Kasha (read the full article). After a workshop with the youth choir in Disneyland spring of 2007, Kasha was so impressed with the talent of the group that he specifically requested they premiere his new holiday song, "Christmas Lights."

By invitation, Kids in Koncert has had the honor of performing with the Mukogawa Choir from Japan and the Mlada Choir from Russia. In 1998, these three choirs came together to perform as the Pacific International Youth Choir in an incredible event, Children Helping Children. The choir has also performed at The Washington Center, Charles Wright Academy, The Seattle Center, and for World AIDS Day in Tacoma and Olympia. These students travel the globe as well, visiting and performing in Washington D.C., Disneyland, Japan and France!
